Purpose

Knowledge is one of Linklaters’ key assets and, as such, needs to be developed and exploited in order to generate further value for the firm.
To focus on the review of management, migration and development of new and existing intranet content to ensure lawyers and business teams can find the information and knowledge they need whether browsing or searching.
This role will be dedicated to working globally, with both practice areas and business teams, to ensure newly created or existing content is well structured, presented, categorised, consolidated, migrated and deleted in line with agreed standards.
This role will focus on:

• Overseeing and managing content to ensure it is effectively titled, categorised and formatted, engaging and free of erroneous code e.g. wiki pages
• Liaising directly with content owners and editors, and facilitating discussions to help reach agreed content design, solutions and delivery approaches
• Supporting content development and management queries and helping to execute and improve content life-cycle management processes
• Supporting communications within the team and to help users across the firm promote their content
• To co-ordinate team meetings, book rooms and diary icons. To write up team meeting agendas and minutes

Key Dimensions

This role will:

• Work closely with and coordinate processes that other members of the Online Content Team (OCT) look after to ensure any creation, review and deletion of content is in line with defined policies and standards
• Coordinate and help others in the team run the global training programme. E.g. calendar entries, book rooms, review training guides and content
• Support intranet related communications using blogs, global/featured news articles, silk screens, Yammer comms etc
• Establish working relationships with content owners and editors across the firm to review, amend, improve and rationalise content where appropriate
• Establish working relationships with Web Systems Team (Technology) to ensure any content development and technical issues identified are recorded in appropriate systems testing and corrective action taken, including support for testing resolutions
• Support intranet related requests, queries and help calls. To make sure they are reviewed, actioned and resolved as quickly as possible

Key responsibilities and challenges

Existing content

This role will:
• Ensure all pages reflect standard policies and processes and content updates are executed or deleted if not used/required
• Ensure all lists, images and other areas of intranet content are reviewed, updated, consolidated or deleted where required
• Review and manager our Yammer processes and policies

Coordinate content review

This role will:
• Help analyse content to ensure that it is not duplicated in multiple locations and to ensure the end user can find that content as easily as possible through good titling and categorisation etc
• Provide regular updates to the Global Intranet and Knowhow Manger against progress and keep informed of any issues as they arise

Engage content owners / editors

This role will:
• Liaise with content owners globally to undertake a review of existing content published or in development
• Liaise with practice areas and business teams to help gather specific knowledge and information requirements, including advising on new content in development, devising effective solutions using available intranet features, and supporting the on-going review of existing published content

Content migration and development

This role will:
• Support the development of new content requests and manage through to completion e.g. wiki pages and lists, utilising existing knowledge of intranets or content/knowledge management technology
• Help define content templates and services that may be exploited by others, e.g. Sector wikis
• Support analysis and review of content to be migrated from legacy platforms as needed e.g. Matter Sites

Content management and support

This role will:
• Support content related queries and troubleshoot problems as required e.g. analysing and resolving html code issues
• Advise content owners on how to effectively categorise content, and support the development, application and management of category term (taxonomy) management used within the intranet
• Support the adoption, management and adherence to online content policies, procedures and standards
• Manage and support others in the team to implement and execute online content administrative tasks and policies to ensure effective content life-cycle management
• Support compilation, and promotion of metrics as required

Communications, training and support

This role will:
• Ensure clear, concise and accurate information, guidance and instructions are conveyed to intranet content editors and users, both written and oral
• Help deliver the training that the team provides in person and via phone/skype
• Support the development and management of administrative guides used within the OCT and other key stakeholders
• Draft promotional materials, blog posts, posters etc to raise awareness of Yammer and intranet services, provide ‘top tips’ and other comms as needed
