JOB TITLE: Fitness to Practise Lawyer
SALARY: Generous starting salary

The successful Fitness to Practise Lawyer will oversee Fitness to Practise cases at the Investigating Committee stage. You will have a proven record of managing a demanding and varied caseload and show credible experience of working effectively with both internal and external colleagues and stakeholders. In order to be successful, you must also have a track record of making effective decisions in line with procedure manuals. You will also be required to supervise the work of Paralegals holding their own caseload in the Investigations Team. You will be required in this post for a period of 6 months. This role provides exceptional exposure to healthcare regulation matters and offers a friendly and supportive working environment.

As a qualified Solicitor or Barrister, you will have gained at least 1-2 years of experience of handling regulatory matters, ideally within (or on behalf of) a regulatory body. You will be able to produce high quality written work to tight deadlines. The role requires excellent legal, analytical and communications skills which will be essential in order for you to be a successful Fitness to Practise Lawyer with our client. You will be confident in your ability to hit the ground running by applying your knowledge of regulatory law and practise, particularly Fitness to Practise work within the healthcare sector.

Our client is focused on protecting the health and safety of the public by ensuring high standards of practise is delivered by their members. Their sole responsibility is to investigate complaints against professionals and take action against them where necessary. Our client has the power to remove the regulated medical professionals from the relevant register if they are found to be unfit to practise.
