OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:
The firms incentives department boasts a high reputation within the market and their lawyers are experts in both HMRC and approved/unapproved arrangements. The firm advise on all corporate and tax planning issues which relate to the establishment and running of incentive schemes, both for public and private companies. The department also works closely with the corporate finance team providing advice where appropriate on corporate governance issues. The successful candidate will have gained a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience ideally in one of the larger City firms (or a smaller firm with a known share scheme practice) to include experience of share scheme aspects of corporate transactions or general advice. The appointed Solicitor will work in all aspects of design, drafting and implementing incentive plans and share plans along with varied aspects of employment taxes to include; bespoke incentives, employee incentives, advice to management on transactions and benefit/plan review. The role may also see the appointed Solicitor write articles and present these at industry and client events on issues surrounding incentives. Ideally experience post-qualification would be 100% in the field of share schemes but experience of share schemes plus personal tax or share schemes plus corporate work would also be attractive. The firm expect applications from Solicitors with an excellent academic record and evidence of good experienced gained at a firm.
