Head of Marketing & Communications – Bristol, London or Newcastle
There's no more exciting time to be joining Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) than now, our first anniversary as the Transatlantic Law Firm Close to Home. Following the announcement of the high-profile combination of Bond Dickinson and Womble Carlyle in November 2017, our established Marketing and Communications team in the UK focused on ensuring that the combined marketing infrastructure and channel platform was developed to effectively transfer the high-levels of legacy brand equity the firm had in the UK to WBD.
As a result of their success in achieving this, we recognise that our brand in the UK is unique, resonating with our clients and communities in what is an increasingly competitive regional, national and international legal services market. We've achieved this by really listening to what matters most to our clients and our people and we've put them at the very heart of all that we do. It's what makes us trusted advisors to our clients, consistently delivering the outstanding client experience that we have become so well known for. We believe it's what will support the growth of our business, allow us to do rewarding and profitable work and create a sustainable business for our people. And that's part of what makes this a great place to work: that we value our people and want them to have long and rewarding careers with us. It's a great story to tell and that's where you come in.
So what does the role look like?
We're looking for a seasoned Head of Marketing & Communications to lead a national team of 15 dedicated and skilled professionals, covering the full spectrum of integrated marketing campaign activity and strategy. Reporting to the Director (and being based in either Bristol, London or Newcastle), you'll build upon the work that has already been undertaken over the past year to transfer legacy brand equity to WBD in the UK, driving that platform through the delivery of high-profile and high-impact integrated marketing campaigns to support the achievement of the firm's vision in the UK. Whilst the role sits in the UK LLP it has an international remit, particularly in the context of our alliance and associated firms in EU and US.
This is a senior position and very visible to the partnership, requiring extensive marketing leadership across the firm’s sectors, practice areas and regional markets. Critically, it involves working closely with the other members of the Business Development Leadership Team (Bids, Clients, Sectors and Knowledge Management) to ensure that the firm's Marketing and Communications are aligned with our vision and strategy in the UK.
What are we looking for?
It's essential you have a proven track record of developing, implementing and leading integrated marketing and communications campaigns in the professional services sector, ideally within a UK and US context. You'll need the gravitas to influence at board level with the ability to challenge thinking when necessary.
You'll be managing a senior and skilled team who are based across our various UK locations, therefore experience of managing remotely with an approachable and empowering leadership style is necessary. It goes without saying that you'll be strategic and pragmatic; committed to achieving 'trusted advisor' status within the business, whilst remaining practical and hands-on.
An MBA, post-graduate qualification in marketing or Chartered Marketer status would be ideal, as would experience of working with Salesforce-based CRM systems.
There's a lot to get your teeth into, but it sounds like a great opportunity doesn't it?
So if what matters most to you is being part of a committed, talented and dynamic team, who go that extra mile to provide an outstanding experience to clients both internal and external, then why not get in touch to find out more. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
STRICTLY NO AGENCIES
