HEAD OF IT PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

An opportunity exists for an experienced IT professional to help lead the IT team of a highly successful and driven national Law Firm from its Manchester main office. Leading the Development, Business Analyst and Testing teams, you must drive product innovation and influence the IT strategy of the Firm, helping to guide its future growth and success. You must be highly organised, analytical and innovative, crucial skills to assist being responsible for the successful operation and development of key software solutions and services.

Such a role requires you to be experienced in negotiation and be highly adept in diplomacy while maintaining a sound commercial awareness and focus at all times. Motivating, developing and nurturing talent in your Teams will be critical to being able to succeed in the role, as will ensuring your and their collaborative approach to working with other teams throughout the IT dept and company as a whole.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The Head of IT Product Development role requires an experienced individual with a proven record of leading teams in an IT product development environment, capable of managing multiple concurrent initiatives and projects of varying sizes and complexity. With the increased focus on Machine Learning / AI technologies you will need to have relevant experience derived from exposure in these fields. You must be able to clearly communicate technological terms to all levels within the company and be confident to communicate with senior stakeholders regarding IT solution strategies. Additionally, understanding both client and business needs will be critical for developing a Digital Product Strategy that improves customer engagement and experience and as a result drives revenue growth. At a more granular level, you will need the ability to budget your projects, record material usage, adhere to project deadlines and report on the activities and accuracy of your teams.

Ideally, you will have a CV which shows you are a Certified ScrumMaster and PMI Agile Certified Practitioner with ITIL v3 Certification. Experience within the legal or insurance industry will be a significant advantage as well as prior experience of document management and case management systems.
