We are currently looking for a financial Client Financial Administrator to work within our Court of Protection (COP) Department in our Sheffield office.
As a financial administrator in our busy Sheffield Office, you’ll ensure things run smoothly behind the scenes. By providing high quality financial administration support, you’ll help our solicitors to really focus on our clients.
Key responsibilities and criteria for this role include:
• You should be fully committed to handling large numbers of financial transactions, while retaining a very good level of accuracy and efficiency. Focus and concentration are mandatory skill requirements of this role.
• Another key part of the role is to prepare yearly financial “Income & Expenditure” reports on behalf of our clients. This also involve a need for a great attention to detail and accuracy especially around the use of Excel and pivot tables.
• Other duties could include administrative tasks such as photocopying, filing, sorting papers and preparation of bundles. You’ll also need the confidence to liaise with senior colleagues within IM.
The Court of Protection is the judicial body in England and Wales responsible for managing the affairs, assets and estates of anyone who does not have capacity to manage their own finances.
The team has a strong reputation in dealing with the full range of Court of Protection services including deputyship services, gifts, Enduring & Lasting Powers of Attorney and replacing deputyships with private trusts. We have dedicated departments located in Newcastle, Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Cambridge, Southampton and London that provide a specialist nationwide service. Our team based approach means we work with colleagues to combine legal expertise from financial management, planning, investment, taxation and returns to the Court.
Candidates should possess practical experience within a similar role and have strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, working with computer systems / databases and working to daily targets in terms of output and accuracy. Full training will be provided and whilst some of your tasks may be repetitive, the ability to make a difference to our solicitors and clients makes this an extremely important role. The role would therefore suit someone who has a genuine interest in helping our clients receive an exceptional service at the time when they need it most.
Applicants must also have a good standard of education including 5 GCSEs/O Level at Grade C or above (to include English and Mathematics). A very good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is an import requirement of the role.
