A specialist family role with a leading regional firm
Our client is a Lexcel-accredited, Legal 500 firm which has been established in South Yorkshire for several decades. Originally concentrating on matrimonial matters, the firm has expanded to encompass all areas of civil law and is now one of the UK’s leading regional firms, but still with a strong emphasis on family and matrimonial work. The firm prides itself on maintaining the integrity and values of a local High Street practice but with a sterling reputation for providing commercially effective and pragmatic advice for individuals and businesses; these range from SMEs to leading industry giants and the firm features on a wide range of specialist legal panels. A vacancy has now arisen for an experienced family solicitor or legal executive to join the family team in the Doncaster office.
You will be dealing with a busy caseload of family law matters, primarily relating to matrimonial or civil partnership proceedings and with an emphasis on all aspects of related financial arrangements. This will include in relation to pre-nuptial agreements and cohabiting couples, and you should be confident in dealing with issues arising under TOLATA. There will be some related work in respect of children arrangements and you should be familiar with both privately-funded and Legal Aid work and have experience in dealing with injunctions.
Our client is looking for an experienced solicitor of about 5 years’ PQE or a similarly experienced legal executive;
Ideally, accredited by a relevant body, such as Resolution;
A confident advocate and robust negotiator, particularly with regard to TOLATA disputes and children arrangements;
With excellent client care skills, able to explain complex matters in clear, accessible and empathic language;
Ambitious, looking to expand your own practice and contribute to marketing the department and the firm as whole.
