Cathedral Appointments is currently recruiting for an Employment Paralegal to join an Exeter based law firm on a 6 month fixed term contract. The ideal candidate will have a Law degree and Employment experience gained within private practice, or experience gained within a HR advisory capacity. LPC Graduates who have studied Employment law as an elective will also be considered. This role would suit someone who is either immediately available or available to start in January 2020.

Responsibilities:

·       You will provide support to our client’s employer advisory service and the broader Employment team within the firm

·       You will be required to cover a helpline on a rota basis, so you will need to have a flexible approach, a good telephone manner and the ability to work within a fast-paced and closely-knit team environment

·       You will support partners and senior fee earners with litigation and dispute work, including drafting pleadings and statements, completing document bundles. If you are willing and able, you will take part in advocacy

·       You may be involved in corporate support work (including large-scale redundancies, restructuring and transfers of businesses) and other employment work

·       You will be expected to be able to produce written advice of a high standard, under supervision

·       You will conduct research, draft documents and be able to discuss cases with clients.

Requirements:

·       You will be an experienced Employment Paralegal with a Law degree, or an LPC Graduate who has studied an Employment elective on your course

·       You will have a good working knowledge of employment law

·       Experience within HR would be an advantage

·       You will have excellent communication skills with a focus on exceptional client care

·       You will need to be highly organised, proactive, accurate and committed to meeting deadlines

·       You will have a strong academic record

If this sounds like the ideal opportunity for you and you can undertake a 6 month fixed term contract, please get in touch with Sophia Damshenas today. On offer is a competitive starting salary and great benefits.
