The role

We're seeking to recruit a confident and highly motivated Employment Associate (3-6 years PQE) to join our award winning and highly regarded Employment team based in Bristol. Having previously been ranked as 'Employment Team of the Year' in The Lawyer Awards, you'll be part of a high performing team which provides pragmatic, rigorous and commercial advice in both private businesses in technology & retail, and in public sectors, locally and nationally.

You'll also be providing expert advice to a range of clients including employers and senior employees/executives in a range of litigious and non-contentious matters. Responsible for dealing with high quality, high value work, you'll afforded high levels of responsibility from the outset. Reporting directly to the Partner, you will act in contentious and non-contentious matters, and play an integral part in a wide range of employment work.

If you'd like to know more about what it's really like to be part of Ashfords, why not hear directly from our own people? You can ask a question, or read what others have asked by visiting theMeet Our Peoplepage.

About You

Already working at Associate level or equivalent, you will be an experienced Employment Lawyer with the drive and enthusiasm to continue developing your practice within a busy and supportive team. An excellent communicator, you readily gain the confidence of the clients you are working with, and handle their matters with empathy and sensitivity. You will need the ability to build strong and lasting relationships with clients, and show a genuine commitment to their care.

Naturally resilient, you will be able to cope with stressful and demanding situations, and be accustomed to working under pressure to meet challenging deadlines . You will be tenacious and thorough with good commercial judgement, in order to find the best possible outcomes for our clients in often challenging circumstances. You will have an eye for detail, and be meticulous in your work - and be looking to take on high levels of responsibility from the outset.

Having gained a good range of experience of employment matters, we will expect you to take a high degree of responsibility for the cases you're working on. As you might expect, we will take every opportunity to support and develop you, and provide cross working opportunities to increase your expertise across the team.

About Us

With more Legal 500 ranked lawyers across our South West offices than any other firm, we are proud of being a professional and collegiate firm, where our people enjoy working together to achieve great results.
