Digital Marketing Executive

Team Marketing & Business Development
Reports to: Digital Marketing Manager

Purpose of job
To ensure that BCLP’s websites are working, up to date, compliant with relevant website laws and regulations, and are contributing effectively to BCLP’s brand and business development activities
To review web analytics to recommend website improvements to the firm

What’s in it for you?
The BCLP Marketing & BD team is committed to the use of websites as a key mechanism to connect with clients, recruits, the press and market influencers. We are passionate about the opportunities that websites present, and believe this role will provide an excellent base to develop your website skills. You will be joining a team that has a track-record in delivering award-winning websites.

Key responsibilities
• Responsible for day-to-day content management on BCLP’s main website, microsites and digital marketing tools. This will involve training and supporting other members of staff to perform basic content duties on the sites, plus taking a hands-on role on delivering more complex content work on the sites and taking a lead role in fixing basic errors on the site
• Support the firm’s content posting activities, helping others to do this effectively – contributing directly to both content management and technical requests when required. Over time become an expert in earning higher visitor traffic and click-through rates and provide recommendations on how to improve performance
• Run analytics reports on BCLP’s websites using Data Studio and Google Analytics, understand how the site is being used, and propose recommendations to improve overall site performance
• Ensure BCLP’s website remains compliant with accessibility guidelines – fixing errors, advising colleagues, keeping an eye on content and making improvements to ensure a good user experience for visitors with visual or other impairments
• Together with the Digital Marketing Manager roll out key web initiatives such as SEO-led content drive, campaign launches and new designs
• Work with our business development and marketing campaigns teams to execute website strategy and assist them in measuring and reporting on KPIs
• Work alongside the BCLP design team to deliver high-impact graphics for the BCLP website

Key relationships
This position will work closely with BCLP’s Marketing, Communications and Business Development professionals, our in-house design team, BCLP lawyers, other BCLP departments (e.g. our recruitment team) and also BCLP’s external web development agencies.

Experience and knowledge
• Degrees or professional qualifications that have a digital marketing component would be ideal but are not essential
• A minimum of eighteen months’ work experience with websites. A background in the legal sector or any form of professional services is preferred but not required, although some experience in business marketing is required
• Experience working on a major website using a Content Management System is required. This role does not typically require writing any code, but a basic appreciation of HTML and the technologies that underpin websites would be helpful
• Experience with Google Analytics and Google Data Studio
• A demonstrable appreciation of – or better, some working experience in – the capture and use of SEO and website accessibility would be ideal

Skills and competencies
• A proactive attitude is essential. We work hard in our team because we all love what we do
• Technical and analytical competence
• Comfortable involvement with both simple and more complex website work
• This is a fun but highly professional team, often facing tight deadlines. Great organisational skills, strong attention to detail and articulate communications are essential
