We are looking for a Deputy Head of Compliance to join our Data and Assurance Team and support
the Head of Compliance with compliance, risk and audit work. This is a newly created role and your
opportunity to make a real impact developing the function to provide the highest standards of
service to customers in the delivery of legal services. You will ensure the group and its employees
adhere to the relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

We believe that location should not stop us from attracting top talent within the industry so location
can be flexible for this role.
Responsibilities:
• Supporting the Head of Compliance in interpreting and responding to the implications or

statutory, legal or regulatory changes affecting the business or legal market.
• Ensuring appropriate monitoring of operational performance, internal policies and managing
regulatory and compliance issues.
• Assessing, and recommending amendments to, internal systems and controls as well as policies
and procedures to facilitate compliance with the regulatory framework;
• Acting as senior point of contact for employees and business leaders on day to day regulatory
matters where applicable
• Leading complex regulatory investigations and prepare investigation reports using appropriate
investigatory techniques.
• Ensuring training is delivered to the business on regulatory requirements and advice on the
application of new requirements and policies.
• Working with the business and risk managers to maintain a clear and comprehensive
understanding of the risk profile across all areas.
• Supporting Data & Assurance managers in establishing legal, regulatory and quality
requirements and ensuring controls, policies and procedures the business needs to meet those.
• Line management responsibilities of the Compliance team and other duties to assist the Head
of Compliance as appropriate.

About You:
• Proven substantial legal sector compliance experience
• Experience with performing compliance within a regulated legal services business.
• Qualified solicitor or barrister.
• Hold an appropriate compliance qualification or be working towards qualification.
• A sound knowledge of the SRA Standards and Regulations 2019 and other relevant legislation.
• Strong knowledge of other regulatory and legislative requirements applicable to the business
• Excellent knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering and financing of terrorism legislation;
• Leadership ability with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to maintain & share up to date knowledge of regulatory and statutory developments
impacting legal businesses.




• A confident trainer with the ability to produce high quality documents
using different office applications.
• Ability to manage & deliver plans for key deliverables through project
managements & MS within a fast paced & changing environment.
