A small firm is currently expanding and is seeking a Criminal Duty Solicitor with LAA Crime Supervisor status to supervise and manage a team of Duty Solicitors.
They are a niche firm specialising in the defence of serious crime. The firm are regularly instructed to represent and defend in extremely serious cases, involving some of the most notorious crimes prosecuted in recent times and quite often cases attracting national notoriety.

The successful Criminal Duty Solicitor shall be able to manage a heavy caseload, be proactive as well as manage and supervise others. The role shall involve police station attendances as well as attending Court to undertake advocacy and meticulous case preparation. The role shall include the management and supervision of other Criminal Duty Solicitors and the allocation of their work whilst ensuring compliance with the 2017 Standard Crime Contract. This is an extremely challenging and demanding but rewarding role.
The suitable Criminal Duty Solicitor must have worked within a similar role ideally with 10 years' + PQE as well as be able to fee-earn and manage others, you shall need to be able to offer constructive criticism, manage, supervise and support others. The successful candidate must be a robust individual with a proven track record of excellent management and leadership skills.
