Job Purpose

We are seeking a Costs Draftsman with experience in Budgeting. With our team expanding rapidly we have an opportunity to join the Costs Management department. As a member of the Costs Management Team within Pure Legal Costs Consultants you need to be dedicated, motivated with the ability to organise your workload to meet deadlines. The candidate’s day to day role will involve preparing Costs Budgets, negotiating on Costs Budgets (Prec R) and also the potential to attend at CCMC’s.

You will report to the Head of Costs Management within the Drafting Department and assist in delivering a first class service to our customers both within and outside of the Pure Business Group.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Preparing Precedent H in Multi Track injury cases with a value of up to £500,000.00 and Budgets in relation to other areas of civil litigation with limited supervision.
  • Dealing with negotiations and Precedent R.
  • Undertaking advocacy at CCMCs
  • Advising clients on all aspects of costs management and providing input on retainers/rates in live cases as and when required.

Person Specification:

  • Proven experience of drafting Costs Budgets and familiarity with multi-track litigation.
  • Experience of negotiations / Costs Management Advocacy would be preferable but candidates without this experience would be considered.
  • Knowledge of Proclaim beneficial but not essential
  • Excel literate to a good standard
  • Working effectively within a team

Personal Qualities / Competence:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Organisational and planning skills
  • A practical and flexible approach to work
  • Good general IT skills
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to use initiative and solve problems

Remuneration:
