An excellent opportunity for an experienced Court of Protection Costs Draftsman/Costs Lawyer to develop their career in a highly respected team, working with multiple national law firms.
Your caseload will include a broad and varied mix of Court of Protection cases for costing, in addition to some marketing responsibilities and potential to manage some client relationships going forward. You will be dealing with a substantial client base, including some high value work.
You will need to be professional and articulate and be capable of building and developing relationships both internally and externally. You must also be capable of engaging with other professionals. Excellent client management and communication skills are essential.
Generate detailed and short form bills of costs for assessment
Provide clients with advice on assessment and potentially, appeal
Prepare for appeals before the Senior Courts Costs Office
Assist with administration of client debts, where necessary
Production of spreadsheets to enter, edit and organise numerical and other data
Preparation of additional legal documents, where required
Use of word processing, Excel and PowerPoint software to format and present high-quality documents and presentations
Management of an online diary system
Support in the coordination of the planning and organisation of events and team marketing activities
Potentially manage client relationships and assist with training
Applicants should possess the following skills and experience:
1 years’ minimum experience working with legal costs
Competent and comfortable using Costs Master and/or other costing systems
Excellent business development and networking skills
Excellent communication and organisation skills are essential
Excellent in using Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Court of Protection costs experience is preferred, dealing with varying values of bills of costs
This is a full time, permanent role with working hours of 9.00am – 5.00pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, with one hour for lunch.
