Cathedral Appointments have a great opportunity for an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to join our client’s local, friendly firm based in the centre of Exeter. The role is to support a busy Residential Conveyancer and the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 months’ Conveyancing experience.


Responsibilities will include: -


·         Opening and closing files, ordering searches, raising enquiries and dealing with all paperwork associated with the Conveyancing process

·         You will be required to validate, verify and process relevant identification and financial information

·         You will link post and other documents to the relevant files

·         You will liaise with clients, agents, lenders and solicitors as part of the transaction process

·         You will use the Land Registry portal, HMRC website and SDLT system to register and obtain key facts related to transactions

·         You keep clients effectively updated on conveyancing process through appropriate correspondence

·         You will comply with SRA and Lexcel regulation and standards, thereby helping to ensure a professional service to clients



Requirements include: -


·         You will have at least 12 months’ Conveyancing Assistant experience, gained within a busy and fast-paced environment

·         You will have good knowledge of the residential conveyancing process, from start to finish

·         You will be organised, resilient and be able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision

·         You will be a team player

·         You will have the ability to prioritise and manage a caseload of work alongside the Conveyancer

·         You will have the ability to be able to effectively communicate with a diverse range of people – in writing, by telephone and face to face as required

·         You will be proficient in using Microsoft Office and relevant Case Management Systems
