Construction Solicitor Manchester (non-contentious) 3 PQE +


Construction Solicitor – A fantastic opportunity has arisen with this leading national firm for an experienced construction solicitor with a predominantly or exclusively non-contentious background. The ideal candidate will be an Associate or Senior Associate construction lawyer at a respected regional or national firm. The team is also considering applicants who wish to relocate to the North West.

  • Reports to: Head of Construction
  • Previous Experience: Proven non-contentious / transactional construction experience from a reputable name in the market. All applicants should be confident construction lawyers who have already advised on complex construction matters.


The current Manchester team is relatively small compared to the rest of the practice group spread across the national network of offices. However, the Manchester office has witnessed a significant period of growth with the firm looking to make the department a key ‘hub’ with particular reference to residential development.

The firm already has an established name within the market, but is looking for the right individual to further strengthen its offering. The ideal candidate may be someone who has reached a bit of a ‘sticking point’ in their career and is finding it difficult to progress any further, perhaps due to the nature and structure of their current department.

Our client is looking to attract someone who is looking for a new challenge in an expanding team – a chance to really ‘set out their stall’ as they progress to Partnership.


The department contains some of the best construction lawyers in the market with the majority of senior members of staff being ranked in the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners. The team has perhaps slightly more of a traditional structure, though it should be stressed this is a modern, innovative practice with one of the best records for retention and career development.

It should also be observed the successful candidate will be given full support in terms of business development. Furthermore, the firm has a refreshingly open policy on consulting lawyers within the practice on how the overall practice is developing. Ivory towers and opaque growth strategies are not something the firm encourages. In that sense, they operate a very common sense, down-to-earth approach to how they see each practice area developing.
