An excellent opportunity to be part of the growing Construction Team, working closely with the Education and Charity Teams. The Construction Team currently sits in the Commercial Property Team which is based across primarily in our Bath, London and Leeds offices. The role will be based in Bath, but will involve travelling to clients and other offices.
You will need to be experienced in negotiation and advice on construction contracts and appointments and all related documentation including complex development agreements.
Familiarity with the charity/education/voluntary client sector is a bonus, but not a requirement.
Ability to deal with construction litigation also a bonus, but priority to non-contentious construction work.
Good “client facing” skills will be vital, together with a capacity to work autonomously and flexibly. The ability to work in harmony with others as part of a team and to contribute to an informal but focused hard working ethos will also be important.
The ideal candidate would have the potential, with appropriate support, to market the firm and should be comfortable of getting involved in business development and opportunities to cross- sell other specialisations within the firm. Typical business development opportunities would include, but are not limited to attending seminars and networking events, presenting workshops to the firm’s clients and being involved in pitches/tenders.
The successful candidate will have excellent prospects for career development in this rapidly expanding team.
Responsibilities are broadly but not limited to:
Effectively manage an individual caseload (with supervision where appropriate).
Attend to clients of the Firm in the office or elsewhere if needed.
