Projects Senior/Principal Associate - National law firm - Oxford (remote/hybrid working).
Our national law firm client are currently recruiting a Projects Solicitor to join its highly regarded team in Oxford working on public-private partnership arrangements. In particular, you will be working on the procurement of student accommodation by universities. This position is open to either real estate, projects or commercial lawyers who have the right transferable skills. The role is offered on a full or part-time (4 days a week), permanent basis with flexible working options accommodated and hybrid working as standard. Excellent salary and wider benefits package. The Role
As a Projects Solicitor in this team, you would:
- Work on high value and high profile projects, often with national importance, acting across a range of sectors for Government departments, contracting authorities and private sector clients on a variety of complex and high value commercial contracts.
- Mainly focus on a variety of contractual arrangements linked to student accommodation projects.
- Be involved in procurement strategies; joint venture arrangements; long-term project/operating agreements; complex project finance and income strip funding structures; long term facilities management arrangements.
- Work closely with and co-ordinate advice from external financial and commercial advisers and the firm's internal procurement, construction, planning, banking, corporate and real estate teams.
- Lead on major projects.
- Be proactive in the team's ambition to do more in the market for "direct let" student accommodation, which is a separate market that does not involve partnership arrangements with Universities.
About You
To be successful in your application for this Projects Solicitor vacancy, you will have:
- Either property, projects or commercial experience from private practice or in-house. Those applying from a real estate background would ideally have real estate forward funding/development agreement or build to rent experience. Those applying from a commercial background will ideally have a background in PFI/public outsourcing contracts but experience of advising on major commercial contracts in other areas will also be acceptable.
- Strong drafting skills.
- Knowledge and experience of public procurement processes (including competitive dialogue) is a plus but not a requirement.
- Prior experience working with universities is a plus but not a requirement.
- The ability to develop strong client relationships.
- Have a collaborative teamwork ethic.
