Job Title: Commercial Development Manager Contract: Permanent Salary: Competitive Location: Manchester Slater and Gordon are a leading consumer law firm which provides a broad range of specialist legal

We are looking for a tenacious Commercial Development Manager to lead the delivery of the
strategic and business objectives relating to the Slater & Gordon Charities & Hospitals and Consumer
Legal Services. This is your opportunity to make a real impact liaising with internal stakeholders to
ensure the delivery of first class service to partners whilst facilitating the optimal customer journey
for consumers. This will be a fast paced and varied role where prospecting, new business
development and conversion to partners, contract negotiation and subsequent account
management will be your main activities.

We believe location should not stop us attracting talent from the industry so location can be flexible
for this role. You will just need to be able to travel to our regional offices when required. Responsibilities:
• Build and nurture a market-leading portfolio of enterprise-profitable partnerships
• Grow and optimise internal business referrals across the group, maximising group revenues

while maintaining consistency with our obligation to offer customers a choice.
• Manage sales operations, and ensure sufficient KPIs and MI are in place, to oversee pipeline
management.
• Support a high performing Business Development team and professionalised Business
Development culture.
• Demonstrate excellent industry knowledge via networking, training, conferences and
research.
• Utilise allocated sales support resource to maximise time spent building new sales pipeline
and high level account management.
• Oversee governance of channel intake, MI, data sharing and customer interaction via the
established governance programme for the channels.
• Establish and maintain quality processes and systems relating to all aspects of Business
Development delivery for the channels
• Demonstrate and implement operational discipline at all times
• Actively foster good relationships with key stakeholders across the entire business
• About you:
• Track record of establishing best-in-class sales and Business Development processes, driving
a commensurate improvement in top line revenue performance
• Proven full cycle management experience – spanning lead generation, funnel management,
bid management and servicing/upselling
• Rigorous pipeline analysis experience
• Diligent reporting, accurate forecasting and risk management experience
• Demonstrable experience of using sales and CRM tools to provide a foundation for building
strong sales operations and management information




• Experience working in both entrepreneurial growth environments
and established companies
• Capability to foster close collaboration between peers, sales
management and sales and support teams
• Ability to influence and build rapport at all levels – from senior executives/directors to
operational staff
• Highly analytical and able to use data to inform decision making
• Results oriented with a high level of personal accountability
• Excellent communication, planning, organisational and problem-solving skills
• Can do attitude and an eagerness to learn quickly, contribute to company strategy and build
