The Role: WBW have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lawyer to join our
Family Team in our Torquay office. The role will include overseeing the whole
process of each case from pre-proceedings through to completion of the final
hearing. Organising/participating in training events as appropriate and/or
necessary. Taking a lead role in advising clients on the specialist aspects of
Child Care law and practice. The ideal candidate will be a qualified
Solicitor/Legal Executive with sufficient experience necessary to enable them
to hit the ground running. You will be part of a team of specialists, who all handle their own caseload of
varied matters. You will be responsible for progressing your own caseload of
files focussed on care proceedings, acting for parents/grandparents, either be
a member of the Children Panel or working towards that. You will be expected
to conduct your own advocacy, unless complex or lengthy. Other aspects of family work will be included in your caseload and you can
focus it around your particular interests.



Quality
To make sure that quality standards are understood and adhered to at all times.
To promote a high quality of service and to maintain file administration, carry
out reviews as directed and comply with the firm’s quality standards policies
and procedures outlined in the firm’s Practice Manual. To adhere to the firm’s
Equality and Diversity Policy at all times.
Profitability
To achieve any billing, time and fee earning targets set; to co-operate with the
firm’s credit control arrangements; to manage time effectively and ensure billing
is carried out regularly. Ensure recommendations and cross-referrals occur to
other departments and personnel within the firm. The Candidate Your team are supportive and will be welcoming; an enthusiastic candidate
with experience is essential. You will need to be able to manage large
workloads effectively and be productive under pressure. Successful
candidates will have previous experience, be personable, articulate and enjoy
working both in an individual role and as an integral part of the team.
Excellent knowledge and evidence of understanding child care law will be
