The department

Our busy and growing Business Development team are looking to recruit a strong BD Co-ordinator to support them within the Nottingham office.

The purpose of this role is to work as an effective member of the team to raise profile and develop new business for the firm and contribute to the co-ordination and delivery of business development activity.

The successful candidate must be proactive, forward thinking, able to show initiative, capable of working under pressure when necessary, have excellent communication skills, be a real team player and have a flexible and professional approach, with a willingness to get involved with a variety of work.

Primarily we are keen to increase our engagement with our markets through social media and video content so there will be a strong digital aspect to this role. We are therefore looking for an individual who is fully conversant with relevant social media channels and who can help to improve our profile, increase our following and develop business opportunities through these platforms.

Although based in Nottingham, the role will provide support to all 11 offices, so travel will be required as and when assistance is needed and for events.

Responsibilities

*

Fully conversant with social media (LinkedIn, Twitter, Blogs) and with the ability to train others on these platforms

*

Monitor, manage and optimise the firm's social media presence and make recommendations for best practice to increase profile and engagement

*

Keeping up to date with digital trends with a view to keeping the firm at the forefront of developments in digital marketing

*

Using web content management systems for Freeths’ website to update content

*

Implementing and managing the editorial schedule for web, blogs, social media, in conjunction with the BD team to ensure consistency of posting across the digital channels

*

Business development support through digital activity – identifying opportunities and leads through online channels

*

Online campaign strategy and planning across the full digital mix including display, PPC, SEO & Social

*

Preparing content and mailing lists for email campaigns, editing and proofreading to ensure no errors

*

Monitoring tracking for website and email campaigns and reporting back

*

Assisting with the production and editing of video clips for use on the firm’s website and mailings, using editing software (training will be given)

*

Creating branded documents and adverts using InDesign software (training will be given)

In addition the candidate would:

*

Support the Business Development Team in general business development activity where necessary, for example preparing for and supporting events, pitches and meetings, etc

*

Support Business Development Team in account management activity, wherever necessary, for example attending meetings with the relevant team member, recording minutes, etc

*

Undertake desk based research in identifying new lead opportunities and potential clients, carrying out background research. Experience of MINT or similar research tools would be useful

*

Have a working knowledge of a CRM system or MS office system and maintaining CRM pipeline records

*

Build relationships with work referrers in the local market place; including attending local networking events to represent the firm

*

Support events run by the office (in house seminars, networking events, etc), including managing delegate lists, ‘meeting and greeting’ and ensuring follow up is undertaken

*

Research industry events for lawyers to attend and managing bookings

*

Undertake general administrative and ad hoc tasks supporting marketing activity

*

Attend meetings with internal sector focus groups to plan business development activities for that sector

*

Take an active role to ensure that action plans are achieved and followed up

Additional information

Knowledge and Experience:-

*

Educated to degree level, ideally a marketing or business related degree

*

Advanced knowledge of MS Office, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint

*

Office/administration skills

*

A familiarity with social media channels

*

Confident use of telephone as a sales and marketing tool

*

Previous experience in a business development role within a law firm or other professional services firm will be an advantage

*

Marketing qualifications will be an advantage
