Who we're looking for
We're looking for a Pursuits and Proposals Manager to provide end-to-end proposals support to its West and Wales region.
We are looking for a hungry, driven and engaging individual who is passionate about helping our teams navigate the pursuit cycle. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who wants to be a part of a maturing proposals infrastructure in the South West and Wales and work alongside a range of stakeholders from our Assurance, Deals, Consulting and Tax lines of service. Our West and Wales region comprises 650 people working from offices in Bristol and Cardiff. The role will suit someone who has good initiative, is willing to challenge the status quo and who brings ideas to build their network across the region.
About the team
Our Pursuits and Proposals team are sales specialists working across the UK, who support client teams from first engagement, through the proposal and pitch process, to closing the deal. As a Pursuits and Proposals manager your focus will be on ensuring that the right strategy is put in place for the opportunity and helping teams execute the pursuit in the most efficient and effective way.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be the point of contact for West and Wales pursuits. Although the role forms part of the national Pursuits and Proposals team, day-to-day you will work alongside the local Sales and Marketing team, which includes business development and marketing professionals aligned to different parts of the PwC pursuit cycle. You will also work with local partners and director stakeholders from the business and will need to be proactive in developing relationships with them.
You will be leaned on and turned to for support and advice for all stages of pursuit and will be trusted to run and operate the territory in your own way.
Providing end-to-end support throughout a proposal life cycle, including proposal management and advice, presentation coaching and obtaining client feedback.
Working with stakeholders across assurance, deals, consulting and tax lines of service, and our industries of focus, to align support to priority areas and drive proposal best practice in the region, whether that’s through training, reporting on key trends or other means.
Helping draft proposal documents and collateral, including cover letters, executive summaries, team and CV information, and firm experience.
Reviewing and amending proposal document and collateral.
Responding promptly to proposals content queries and building networks of SMEs across the region and the Firm.
Delivering tailored training modules and work closely with SMT and Office Senior Partners to understand where training may be required.
Conducting client feedback and post decision reviews
You’ll have excellent project management and coaching skills and an ability to think commercially and see the bigger picture. You’ll need to be able and confident to provide your views and challenge and support teams in a constructive manner and build on relationships across the region. You’ll need patience and to be flexible, to understand that with a broad geography and group of stakeholders there is no one right way.
It would be great if you have experience of working in professional services or partnership environments, although not essential.
Experienced, self-motivated individual of graduate calibre with a proven track record in delivering proposal management and bid advice for high value proposals.
Experience of proposal coaching, advising and proposals support with the ability to implement both strategic and tactical initiatives.
Self-starter able to work effectively as part of a virtual team.
Creative and innovative approach.
Excellent proven project management skills.
Experience of managing diverse senior stakeholder groups.
Proactive with a positive ‘can do’ approach.
Emotional intelligence and an ability to flex style to the situation.
