Job Title: Apprentice Accounts Assistant

Reporting to: Head of Department

Department: Accounts

The Firm has a preferred Apprenticeship training provider who will assist you throughout the 12 month Apprenticeship program. Your designated tutor will meet with you on a monthly basis in the office where they will go through the units you have chosen for you to show evidence gained from your day to day duties within the Accounts team. You will not be required to attend college; however, you may be asked to sit some exams in IT, Math’s and English depending on your GCSE results, the apprenticeship provider will discuss this with you.

Examples of daily tasks (not an exhaustive list)

  • Daily banking of monies
  • Processing cheques, disbursements, and BACS payments
  • Archiving files
  • Credit control
  • Purchase Ledger entries
  • Various ad-hoc duties to suit the needs of the department/company

Essential skills:

  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills
  • Ability to remain calm whilst working under pressure
  • Quick learning
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and effectively prioritise a range of tasks

 Hours

Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with 1 hour for lunch.
