The role

In order to provide excellent service to clients, we need excellent people. Aside from our Lawyers we also need skilled and talented support staff and this leads to our current opening based in our Southampton office. We are looking for an Administration Assistant who ideally has some experience of working in an administration role.

Let me introduce our Administration & Secretarial Services team

In the UK our Administration & Secretarial Services team are also based across the country and between them they support our 1300 staff. They ensure our legal documents are produced to the highest standards and provide key day to day administrative assistance to our lawyers.

What will you be doing?

The key aspects of the role will be filing (both electronic & manual), printing, proofreading, communicating with internal colleagues and creating business documents. You'll be providing support to a number of legal teams, including Employment, Corporate, Banking, Commercial and Restructuring & Insolvency.

So, what are we looking for?

A flexible and adaptable approach is essential, as are excellent IT skills and a strong team ethic. Good communication and relationship building skills are a must, as is the ability to meet deadlines. We use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, so experience of working with these and other bespoke legal packages would be desirable. There is the potential to recruit this role as a an Apprentice (subject to eligibility) which would offer the opportunity to gain a formal Level 2 Legal Administration qualification as well as paid on-the-job training. Your progress will be monitored and assessed regularly, by a variety of methods including an e-portfolio, work-place exams, assignments and supervisory testimonials.
