Fletchers Solicitors are looking to recruit an Accounts Supervisor to oversee the day to day activities of the Accounts and Funding teams. This role will be solely responsible for ensuring all client monies are dealt with quickly and efficiently, as per SAR regulations, therefore a proven track record in the legal sector would be advantageous.

In addition to overseeing the daily transactions of the team such as accounts payable, payments and receipt handling, bills and bank reconciliations, this role will also be required to produce Excel reporting using a range of data provided by third parties thus strong Excel skills are essential. Responsible for a team of 7, the ideal candidate will have had previous people management experience with a proven track record of development within the team.

The Accounts team are the first point of contact for all legal team members regarding client monies, and as such the ability to communicate effectively to non-finance members is essential, as is building strong relations with our legal counterparts.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

* Oversee Accounts team daily transactions including accounts payable, general ledger and bank reconciliations
* Oversee Funding team daily transactions ensuring all policies are obtained and claims uploaded and paid
* Manage month end, and year end closures
* Produce weekly and monthly reporting using third party data
* Establish accounting policies and procedures, aligned with the company’s targets
* Ensure compliance with SRA regulations
* Manage the annual SRA audit, ensuring all transactions are fully substantiated
* Manage a team of 7, building strong working relationships and actively encouraging development
* Ad hoc duties as required

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

* Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPS, SUMIFS and pivot tables
* Experience with accounting software
* Solid knowledge of accounting principles, laws and regulations
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data
* Ability to build relationships across all levels of the business
* Team management skills
