Accounts Payable Assistant

Working Hours - 9:00am to 5:30pm
Scope for Permanent position for the right candidate
I am currently recruiting for an accounts payable assistant to join an expanding law firm based in Leeds City Centre. The ideal candidate will be immediately available and will have a keen interest in working in the legal sector.
The firm is looking for someone capable of providing a proactive accounts payable service to the business. The relevant candidate will have proven accounts payable experience, preferably gained in a legal environment.
Experience in accounts payable / finance administration is essential. Legal sector specific experience would be advantageous.
- Check and sort daily accounts payable post;
Ensure all invoices are appropriately approved for payment;
Check, code and enter all approved invoices;
Once invoices have been entered, file and prepare them for payment;
Run a weekly report of payments due and prepare a payment batch;
Prepare batch payment for review prior to payment;
All payments need to be made electronically but for a handful of exceptions prepare cheques for those vendors who are not paid through BACS;
Maintain supplier details on Elite
File all relevant documents promptly following the department's filing convention;
Ensure sufficient funds are available on client account to meet disbursement payments;
- Liaise with cashiers to ensure staff expenses are properly authorised and paid promptly;
The post holder will be required to do other duties as required including providing back up to other areas of the accounts office and assisting others where necessary
