POSITION DESCRIPTION ACCOUNTS PAYABLE ASSISTANT Position Title Accounts Payable Assistant Department Finance Position Type Full Time - Permanent
Role Summary We are looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join our highly regarded team at Baker
McKenzie Global Services, Belfast.
The successful applicant will be part of a small Local Finance team who will be primarily responsible
for managing the accurate and timely processing of the Accounts Payable function in the Belfast

Our Belfast office is a centre of excellence and focuses on providing high quality legal services to the
Firm's clients around the world, and business and administrative services to our many offices and
Responsibilities Responsible for the Accounts Payable function, including:
o Receiving, verifying and coding invoices o Processing invoices and matching to Purchase Orders o Preparing fortnightly payment runs through SAP and online banking system o Completing supplier statement reconciliations o Completing monthly AP balance sheet account reconciliations
Responsible for reviewing and verifying staff travel claims and expenses Responsible for preparing bank reconciliations on a weekly basis Responsible for maintaining records on the company credit card and reconciling account
weekly Responsible for maintaining fixed asset register Responsible for responding to queries on travel and preparing monthly management reports
Assisting with year end accounts preparation and audit file and deal with queries from
external auditors Ad hoc administrative and financial support to the finance and wider team.
Job Holder Requirements
Essential Criteria: 2+ years experience within a finance role Experience of using an accounting package (SAP desirable but not essential) Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft Excel (to include pivot tables and
Vlookups) Drive and ambition to learn and to be part of a team.
Desirable Criteria: Relevant undergraduate degree with 2.1 classification or above. Experience of SAP Experience of SharePoint.
Technical & Personal Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal as role will involve dealing with Senior
Management A motivated and driven individual Close attention to detail Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment Commitment to perform responsibilities within high professional and ethical standards.
