A leading international firm is looking for a Senior Associate or Legal Director to join their high-performing team based in Leeds. This presents an excellent opportunity to work closely with a Partner who has received significant recognition across all major legal directories and an early level of client responsibility from the outset.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a highly regarded global firm with one of the largest Employment teams in the UK. As a senior member of this team, you will progress and manage a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, varying in scale and complexity. The work spans a range of sectors including major corporates, retail, hospitality, central government, insurance and health and a significant number of clients are household names.

You will work closely with the Partner and wider team advising significant public, private and health employers on human resource issues from daily personnel matters, including disciplinary and grievance issues, to strategic management issues such as collective redundancy programmes, industrial action, transfers of employees and sensitive hires and exits.

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

· Qualified Solicitor with around 8 years' PQE upwards.
· Experience gained within an established employment practice.
· Demonstrable experience of handling tribunal claims from start to finish.
· Ideally civil and/or appellate court experience (EAT, High Court, Court of Appeal etc).
· Experience advising large employers in heavily regulated sectors will also be advantageous, for example financial services, health, local and central government.
· The ability and desire to supervise junior lawyers within the team.
· A willingness to participate in business development.
