The Business Development Manager or Business Development Executive is responsible for driving business development strategy and facilitating the firm’s client relationship management programme.
The role typically involves identifying and pursuing key targets, working with Fee Earners to manage targets through the sales pipeline, leading the tender process, and drafting legal directory and awards submissions.
The role of BDM tends to be very hands-on working both with Senior Partners and the marketing team to develop strategic initiatives.
BDMs need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills, alongside relevant business development experience within the legal or other professional services sector.
BDMs frequently have had earlier experience in financial services, investment banking or management consulting.
