Job Description

Wills & Probate Legal Assistant - Fee Earner is needed for an excellent legal firm based in the city of Manchester. Salary to £22k

Our client is a specialist commercial and private client firm based in the centre of Manchester. The firm provides practical, informed & honest advice and are committed to delivering the best results for our clients. They solve their problems and in doing so exceed expectations.

The role involves:

Preparing wills using template and adding clauses as directed
Printing hard copy and copy for file
Witnessing if necessary when clients come to the office to sign
Obtaining Will and Grant of Probate letters of administration in the event of intestate
Client care letters sent to Executors
Obtaining documents of identification of Executors
Writing to financial institutions including any stocks, shares, bonds, building society accounts and bank accounts
Forwarding copy death certificate for inspection and return
Asking for closing credit and debit balances and closing all accounts
Termination supply of services
Informing all Government bodies such as pension, housing departments and benefits
Instructing Agents in the sale of any property
Obtaining deeds
Liaising with parties as to the clearance of any general effects other than those to be distributed to beneficiaries
Conveyancing Transaction of property thereafter
Opening designated bank account in the name of the deceased for deposit of credits
Preparing statement of account as directed showing debits and credits to the estate
Distribution of legacies to beneficiaries including preparation of cheques

Candidates must have previous experience of working within Wills and Probate, a positive "can do" attitude and have excellent communication skills.
