Reporting to the Director of Business Development Operations at this top ranked City based Law practice with a global reach. Your remit will be to support the management team of one or more business groups or sectors in delivering new business from both existing and target clients.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Undertake research and analysis, in conjunction with Research team, on new markets, and existing client opportunities. Manage the BD budget.
You’ll provide support to partners in all aspects of business development, covering a wide portfolio of BD skills, to include targeting, credentials materials, tactical activity such as sponsorship and thought leadership e.g. surveys/product development.
Manage the profile of the practice/sector group by ensuring effective teamwork between them and the business development managers and the PR team.
Manage and mentor Business Development Executive(s) and Senior Executive(s).
Liaise with other business development managers to share best practice and communicate to practice group/sector heads to ensure cross-practice working.
Assist with internal marketing and knowledge sharing.
Contribute to/implement firm wide BD activities such as legal directory submissions, web site material, deals database, credentials material and similar activities.
Person Specification
You’ll be Degree educated with a relevant marketing qualification (desirable). Experience of undertaking a similar role in a partnership environment is a prerequisite as are team management and mentoring skills.
Experience of relevant practice/sector desirable as is the ability to show commercial awareness.
Your CV will demonstrate a broad range of BD skills coupled with strong line management, experience of financial management and strong organisational with good interpersonal skills.
A thorough understanding of delivering in a fast changing environment with a persuasive ability to change and influence senior personnel is a definite requirement.
