SOCIAL CARE SOLICITOR - DERBYSHIRE
Local Authority in the Midlands seek a Social Care Solicitor to cover for a period of up to three months on part-time hours. The ideal candidate would encompass Local government experience, preferably current. Ideally a current adult social care solicitor. Comprehensive knowledge of the Mental Health legislation (including the Mental Capacity Act). Knowledge of the operation of the current Court of Protection. Knowledge and recent experience of dealing with the legal issues regarding vulnerable adults and adult protection generally. Some experience of contract work. Experience of defending Judicial Reviews. Experience of immigration / asylum cases. Experience of Coroner's inquests. Experience of dealing with assessments/ assessment processes/ charging for residential care. Involvement with direct payments. Good communication skills, good written work and a team worker.
