LOCAL AUTHORITY LAWYER - BIRMINGHAM
Leading international full service law firm are currently looking to recruit a local authority lawyer with 2 years + PQE to join their Projects & International Construction Group. The firm is focused on supporting local government with authoritative legal advice on key strategic issues. They combine the best of commercial and public law, backed by real experience of working in, and for, local authorities, to offer practical and sensitive advice. They are nationally rated in Strategic Partnering/PPP, Procurement and Public Law and have advised on major, often leading edge, projects across property, street services, IT, housing, waste and education. Their experience in governance and leading reputation in employment law means we can also deal with the sometimes difficult issues of accountability and change. with a team of over 70 lawyers, they advise over 80 local authorities and provide policy, development and guidance advice to DCLG and 4Ps. The successful candidate will have a local government background with a thorough understanding of local authority governance and practices. Candidates must be technically excellent but equally important, commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development in the local authority sector. They will be a team player with a strong client focussed approach. They will also have a strong academic background and excellent communication and organisational skills. Within a supportive team environment, the successful candidate will have every opportunity to develop their personal expertise and pursue their career goals.
