PROJECTS (PPP/PFI) ASSOCIATE - CENTRAL LONDON
Leading UK commercial law firm with more than 490 lawyers offering a broad range of legal services to major national and international corporate, government, institutional and public sector clients is looking for a Projects Associate 2-5 years PQE to join team.
Projects Group
The Projects group is a fast growing, dynamic and integrated team and is committed to the following areas: Projects including education (BSF in particular), social housing, leisure, emergency services, health, energy and waste. The team comprises of 10 Partners and 15 Associates and draws together specialists in PFI, energy, construction, planning and public sector work. They advise private sector sponsors and funders on PFI/PPP and their infrastructure projects, including ICT, regeneration and outsourcing contracts, Government departments, local authorities, development agencies and other public bodies.
About the Role
You will be working closely with Partners and Associates within the group as well as with our transactional associates from across the firm, including banking, employment, pensions, planning, construction, property and tax.
You will work on a diverse range of Public Private Partnership contracts across different industry sectors for both private and public sector clients.
Providing high quality legal advice on all aspects of the PFI/PPP documentation.
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts.
Involvement in marketing and business development activities, including formal pitches and tender panels.
Involvement in the production of training materials and market updates.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
The firm are looking for an associate to join our team, between 2-5 PQE.
You should be able to demonstrate:
Experience from one or more leading law firms (UK experience essential).
Be a non-contentious projects or commercial lawyer with a public sector, construction, real estate or corporate background.
Possess a good track record of involvement in PFI work including closing deals.
An ability to build strong client relationships and win repeat business.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including drafting).
Flexibility, in terms of the work to be undertaken and the level of involvement in transactions.
A willingness to take on responsibility and manage a team.
A commercial outlook and be willing to be proactive.
An ability to work to demanding deadlines and manage competing priorities.
