Job Description

Are you feeling fed up at your current firm? Perhaps you are already working in the regions but looking to boost your career or perhaps you are looking to relocate from London but don't want to lose the quality or work that you are used to. Whatever your reasons this could be a great opportunity.

The firm

The firm is an international practice with a number of offices throughout the UK and further afield. They rank in the top 20 law firm by fee income, advising AIM, FTSE 250 and FTSE 100 clients. They have over 275 partners and nearly 1,000 lawyers worldwide, with a total staff of 1600.

The Projects/ PFI practice

The Projects/PFI team is the largest group in the firm in terms of headcount and also in terms of revenue. The team in the Bristol office is small but you will be working with colleagues in cross office teams. The team has won a number of awards recently.

The Work

The team specialises in advising Government, authorities, sponsors, contractors and financial institutions in the carrying out and financing of PPP/PFI and other major projects both in the UK and internationally. The work is very varied and there is lots of diversity. The team deal with everything from very small local projects to multi million (and even multi billion) pound projects. They are recognised as being one of the leading legal firms within the Projects Sector both in the UK and internationally.

You

You should ideally have gained experience in a City firm or large regional practice and have strong academic background and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should be a team player with a strong commercial, client-focused approach. You should have experience of PFI / PPP contracts including acting for the public or private sector. You should be someone who is enthusiastic and enjoys the variety of working in a practice area where no two days are the same. You will need to travel to the firm's other offices and to meet clients so will be out of the office a lot and will have face-to-face client contact from day 1.

Training and Support

The firm are committed to training all of their staff irrespective of level and recognise that learning is an ongoing process for all of their lawyers. They provide a full training and development programme for all their staff. They run a range of development and technical skills courses throughout the year and you will receive informal support and training on a one-on-one basis.

Benefits

The firm offers a great remuneration package and also offers:

Private medical health insurance

Life insurance

Travel Season Ticket Loan

Gym Loan

Eye Care Vouchers

Childcare Voucher Programme

2 weeks Paternity

An additional maternity leave package on top of the statutory allowances

Pensions

In addition the firm has negotiated a number of discounts for its employees across a range of retail and services.
