Senior Claims Handler
Location: Bristol
Salary: £20,000 - £28,000
A Senior Claims Handler to join our clients Professional and Financial Risks Team. Your role will be to advise insurers and professional organisations when they are faced with the threat of a professional negligence claim.
Our client is seeking candidates with good technical knowledge of claims from an Insurance and a legal background
Responsibilities:
Work on professional indemnity cases with a value up to £200k
Legal issues in respect of a variety of professions as well as building an understanding of each profession's own rules, procedures and regulatory framework
Assessing liability and quantum and establish strategy for the case
Resolving claims through negotiation of settlement
Skills:
An in depth understanding of insurance claims management typically gained through a number of years experience within a legal or insurance environment
IT literate with working knowledge of Word and Excel
Knowledge of case management systems such as Solcase would be an advantage but training will be provided
Client focused with an ability to build strong relationships with client and third party contacts at all levels
