Job Description
Fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Personal Injury Solicitor to join our clients fast expanding law firm.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Defending RTA litigated small claims track, fast track and some multi track personal injury/damage only claims, to include the handling of disputed credit hire claims;
- Dealing with all aspects of a claim, from service of proceedings through to settlement/briefing Counsel for trial, to include drafting of own defences, witness statements and other procedural documents;
- To follow at all times as appropriate the Firm's/Team's predefined technical processes and procedures and to meet all client SLA requirements relating to the management of the client's claims.
- To review and prioritise all incoming post on the date of receipt.
- To update technical processes on receipt of post on matters where a key date is involved.
- To document each file activity that has taken place.
- To ensure each matter has a follow-on diary action as appropriate
- To deal with all files proactively to achieve early settlement or trial as appropriate.
- To ensure that an adequate reserve is advised/entered into the Client's systems as appropriate for each file and to regularly review the reserve
- To ensure files are closed in a timely manner.
- To assist in the supervision of junior members of team as required and to assist with in house training as required.
- At all times to exercise high standards of client care in a professional manner.
- To ensure the confidentiality of all the firms clients and client documentation and information.
- To ensure good working relationships with the Team, the Client and all external institutions and organisations.
- To take responsibility for and attend to self development.
- In conjunction with the firm to comply with the relevant training requirements of the Law Society/Institute of Legal Executives.
Education and Experience
Qualified Solicitor /FILEX
Case management experience
