The position is intended to present a challenge for the successful applicant. Reporting directly to the Claims Director, there will be a relatively small allocation of the more complex and/or high value cases. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing a team of four claims handlers initially, numbers will increase and implementing and pushing through protocols and procedures to ensure the speedy recovery of credit hire and repair costs. The position is ideally suited to someone with the ambition to progress professionally within a developing company.
Technical Experience
Motor claims handling experience recovering client's damages and negotiating and resolving liability.

Some ABI GTA credit hire / repair experience would be an advantage.
Some experience dealing with litigated files and/or the civil procedure rules would be an advantage.
The applicant should be prepared to answer technical legal and procedural questions regarding liability, credit hire and broader matters concerning mitigation. Where an applicant claims litigation and CPR knowledge/experience they should be prepared to answer questions on this as well.
Managerial Experience
Some staff management or supervisory experience is certainly preferable, as is the ability to produce and interpret management information on windows based platforms, particularly excel. The applicant should be prepared to explain their approach (whether or not they have practical experience) to people management. The applicant will need to understand the processes of induction, appraisal and training and express their views.
