PROFESSIONAL DEPUTY - LONDON CITY
Internationally recognised law firm based in central London currently seeks a Solicitor with experience acting as a Professional Deputy.
Applicants will meet the needs of the clinical negligence caseload for a deputyship service, and help to expand the service. To act as Professional Deputy to clients whose financial affairs need to be overseen by the CoP following catastrophic PI / clinical negligence.
Duties for this position will include -
- To apply for a deputyship order
- Where personal injury or clinical negligence litigation is going, to liaise with the litigation lawyers in relation to budgeting, disclosure and file management
- To develop and maintain file management protocols to meet the needs of the litigation and deputyship files
- Supervise the work of Deputyship Administrator
- Work closely with family of the client to ensure that dealings with the court of protection are as smooth and efficient as possible
- Advice in relation to welfare benefits and state assistance
- Prepare statutory wills
- Develop and expand the Deputyship service
Must have experience of
- Developing and maintaining file management procedures
- Supervision of support staff
- Trust, Welfare Benefits, Personal Tax, Wills
- Practice development
