Paralegal required to work within the Licensing team of busy Manchester law firm.
You will be working in a team consistently regarded as being in the top tier in the north west and Legal 500.
The work involves preparing and submitting licensing applications including Transfer of Premises
Licence, Variation of Designated Premises Supervisor, Variation of Premises Licence and New
Licence applications. All applications are processed using a case management system which was
specifically tailored to meet the team's requirements. A good knowledge and past experience of using case management would be beneficial.
Work will mainly be undertaken for major clients.
The successful applicant will be required to form a good working relationship with clients and to liaise with Local Authorities and other agencies eg the police.
Successful applicants must have an ability to work independently and under pressure and to manage client expectations. T
They will require a willingness to learn the licensing law [the other fee earners in the team are very supportive and willing to help] and so be able to advise clients as and when required.
Daily tasks include:
taking client instructions via telephone, e-mail, fax & post;
processing licensing applications;
Liaising with the local authorities (Councils);
advising clients;
updating client spreadsheets/trackers;
sending out Premises Licence
