A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Paralegal with a Licensing background has arisen at e Legal 500 firm in Birmingham. Salary up to £25k.
The Client: Our client is a leading Legal 500 firm with many years of experience at providing an excellent service. With offices spread across the Country this firm's reputation is ever-growing, this successful firm is well known for its technical expertise, real life advice and adding real value to any business.
The Role: Candidates must have previously worked as a Paralegal within a Licensing department.
The work will involve preparing and submitting licensing applications including Transfer of Premises Licence, Variation of Designated Premises Supervisor, Variation of Premises Licence and New Licence applications. Work will mainly be undertaken for major clients such as Total UK, Wine Cellar, De Vere Hotels & Leisure Ltd and Makro. The successful applicant will be required to form a good working relationship with clients and to liaise with Local Authorities and other agencies including the police.
Successful applicants must have an ability to work independently and under pressure and to manage client expectations. They will require a willingness to learn the licensing law and so be able to advise clients as and when required.
Daily tasks include:
1 taking client instructions via telephone, e-mail, fax & post;
2 processing licensing applications;
3 liaising with the local authorities (Councils);
4 advising clients;
5 updating client spreadsheets/trackers;
6 sending out Premises Licence.
