Job DescriptionLegal Helpline Advisor Legal Helpline Advisors wanted for rewarding opportunity with one of the UK's leading law firms based in Sheffield. Salary 14k. A leading player within the legal services market, my client is internationally recognised for its high levels of service and client care. The successful applicant will be working in the Legal Advice Centre delivering general preliminary advice to clients over the telephone, recording information on case management software, undertaking legal research, assisting in resolving issues relating to insurance claims and initiating legal expenses claims on behalf of callers. You will be working to agreed protocols to assess a caller's situation and successfully manage client expectations. A structured training programme is provided to develop these skills. Overtime, candidates can expect to develop one or more speciality subject areas of legal expertise and be involved in preparing and maintaining library advice and training materials. In addition, there may also be opportunities to act as a mentor to new team members and to participate in the induction and training for the legal advice team. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable. The successful applicant will be expected to show they possess initiative, excellent telephone skills with the ability to communicate at all levels, are used to working under pressure in a busy office environment and have good organisation, IT and administration skills. Previous legal experience and a good standard of education are essential. Candidates who have completed the LPC, but are not necessarily looking for a training contract would be considered as would candidates with a law degree or post graduate legal qualification. The Legal Advice Centre handles calls for clients addressing issues on any matters of English, Scottish or Northern Irish Law therefore candidates transferring from Scottish or Northern Irish to English Law are of particular interest. Applications from candidates who are transferring to Law from Accountancy backgrounds would also be of interest as the helpline provides tax advice. This is a full time position, although you will be working on a rolling rota whereby you will be expected to cover some evenings/weekends. The successful applicant will be required to undertake a Basic CRB Disclosure check.
