This leading Personal Injury Team advises insurers and corporate clients in their defence of claims relating to fatal accidents, catastrophic injuries, rehabilitation, employer liability, product liability, sports injuries, aviation injuries, occupational stress, repetitive strain, occupational cancers, new diseases, noise- induced hearing loss and severe road traffic accidents. Services cover both high value specialist claims and smaller, less complex ones. In addition to this, the team provides advice on fraudulent claims and coverage disputes. They have successfully retained their position on the panels of a number of large insurance companies at a time when other firms are losing their place on panels. Core Responsibilities Your day to day responsibilities will include: obtaining and drafting pleadings, preparation of witness statements and letters of response, conducting face to face negotiations/mediation of claims, preparation of detailed schedules of damage and counter schedules, as well as telephone application/hearings and attending trials/conferences. You will be required to take full responsibility on claims up to a certain value and have the potential to develop to higher value claims in due course. You will also be required to participate in marketing and client training events on a regular basis at different locations through the UK. Key Skills You have strong academic qualifications, with a minimum of two years defence litigation/personal injury experience is required. Experience of EL, PL and RTA is necessary.
