THE WHO, THE WHAT?
This impressive, forward thinking and creative firm has taken a strategic decision to develop a cutting edge corporate recovery practice in London. They already have a first tier ranking office outside of London and they wish to mirror this in the city. The firm is ideally positioned to do this and has a highly enviable portfolio of clients including RBS, Bank of Scotland and the Clydesdale bank.
THE OPPORTUNITIES:
As a result of their planned growth, there is now a need to build the team, they are looking to hire at all levels from Partner to Junior Assistant. Motivated, bright individuals who are keen to play a key role in further developing the domestic and international client base will find a very appealing home here. Associates would be expected to concentrate on insolvency/restructuring matters or contentious issues whilst junior and mid ranking assistants with a strong finance/insolvency background are required.
This exceedingly profitable firm is an all equity performance based partnership. Individuals who grow the business will be expected to develop their own business case for partnership (circa £1.5m). Client contacts that make up such a business case may come from the associate's own portfolio or contacts or be provided by the firm's contacts. There are at least two junior partner positions available in London which our client is looking to fill in the immediate future.
The Practice Area Head who is based outside London, is committed to working alongside the new team, exploiting his status and significant profile to help develop and market contacts. His own contacts are at CEO level with banks and accountancy firms. Currently a high percentage of the team's work is acting for banks, a smaller percentage for insolvency practitioners and a small amount is based debtor led matters on turnaround and restructuring. The group has handled some truly exceptional work and doubtless has an enviable client and contact list.
With a personable, approachable and very interactive atmosphere, the morale is high here and the firm overall can boast a very low turnover of staff. This is not a greenfield site, there are high value instructions coming into the London team already and a massive level of support and client/contacts from other offices which can be tapped into.
THE WHY?
Here, lawyers can truly benefit from a 'hands on', commercial environment reflecting the firm's close working relationship with its clients. Individuals are encouraged to develop their client-facing skills at an early stage in their careers and are actively involved in marketing and business development. Feedback and appraisals are regularly given and personal concerns about work or career are always an open subject. The emphasis here is very much on a team driven collaborative environment.
Outstanding benefits and highly competitive pay is on offer.
