An exciting opportunity for an ambitious, personable and energetic individual who wants to be part of the development of this growing Bristol-based Corporate Recovery/Insolvency Team, within the expanding and well respected Company Commercial Group, currently comprising in excess of 40 fee earners. The dedicated team acts for many leading firms of insolvency practitioners and is well regarded. The practice includes contentious and non contentious advice specific to this area. The emphasis of the role will be towards providing advice on claims by Insolvency Practitioners to those Insolvency Practitioners, to Directors and other parties. It will include corporate, partnership and personal insolvency. Claims will include relatively small claims and substantial ones The successful candidate will be actively and directly involved in client care activities, supporting the firm's business development and assisting with the development of the Business Recovery and related practices of the firm. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate substantial, specific experience and sound legal knowledge in insolvency, commercial dispute resolution and corporate and commercial law and practice. An understanding of business finance and accounting will be desirable. The ability to work within a team on larger cases will be as important as being able to work independently on smaller cases. The candidate will also be expected to have well developed advisory and drafting skills providing a commercial, practical approach to their advice. The applicant will be expected to demonstrate experience of insolvency proceedings and claw back claims, and that they have been a lead advisor. Experience of non-contentious corporate and insolvency business sales would be a substantial advantage. The applicant will be expected to demonstrate commitment to working, to the development of core relationships with clients and business development. Advising on bringing and defending 'claw back' claims brought by Insolvency Practitioners including advice on recovery of assets or money due to a company, allegations of breach of director's duties, claims arising from preferences and transactions at an undervalue and wrongful trading. General advice to businesses, directors, and individuals faced with risks of insolvency and also include advice to other teams in the firm
