The new city firm where everyone's a partner
At Hillingdon we've created the dynamic of a private law firm inside a public sector organisation. We're the first local authority to restructure its Legal Services department so that it mirrors private sector working practices. We're changing the way we think, the way we work, and the way we deliver legal advice. Top class professionals are joining us from private practice, attracted by the wealth of resources, the extraordinary range of work, the clarity of the structure, the quality of the training and the scope for career development... not to mention amazingly generous holidays and a great work/life balance. Above all though, they can sense that we've created a new model that others will want to follow - and here's the chance to be in at the start and shape its success. You could be one of them.
For the Department of Adult Social Care (ASC) you'll provide legal advice and support on a broad range of adult care issues and asylum matters. Paralegals in the ASC Team will be guided by you, while you'll take responsibility for conducting cases in courts and tribunals, and giving briefings on changes or developments in adult care law.
Admitted as a Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive, you will bring at least two years' experience relating to adult care and asylum law, including full conduct of cases and advocacy, together with a broad grasp of the practice of law in local government.
