Main purpose of the role
As part of a established Family law department, which specialises in finance, children and child abduction, we are looking for a hard working solicitor to join our child abduction team.  As an efficient team player your role will involve assisting a senior associate with a caseload of child abduction work, as well as running your own caseload predominantly of children related cases. Excellent scope to develop experience within a niche and specialised area of law.

Duties/Responsibilities: (Preferably in order of the most important)
1. Assisting a senior associate in child abduction cases 
2. Running own caseload of children matters
3. Attending some court hearings with counsel in London 
4. Doing own advocacy in Bristol County Court and Magistrates Court
5. Drafting pleadings and Briefs to Counsel 

Skills Required/Key competencies:
Essential:
- Strong Organisational skills
- Enthusiasm and positive approach to Family law.
- Sufficiently confident with family law to use your own initiative.
- Proven team working abilities
- An ability to handle urgent work, and work to tight deadlines
- An ability to remain calm and work effectively in a high pressure environment

Desirable:
- Working knowledge of public funding

Experience Required:
Essential: 
1. Experience of running own caseload within a family law environment, preferably dealing with children related cases 
2. Advocacy experience  
3. Experience of drafting pleadings 

Education Required:
1. You will be a fully qualified Solicitor
