The Planning team has been described as having an enviable national reputation' (Legal 500) with a strong, professional and knowledgeable team who are primarily recognised for expertise in housing developments, infrastructure and Section 106 agreements (Chambers & Partners 2008). 5 of the team are noted individually for their expertise in planning.
Developers, housebuilders and landowners turn to us for guidance through the intricacies of the planning system. Regeneration projects are a key part of our practice, as are development matters for housebuilders, commercial developers and local authorities.
Demographically the planning team encompasses a broad spectrum and is friendly and collegiate in its approach to work.
Our team is involved in a broad spectrum of work covering both contentious and non-contentious planning and environment issues, in particular we have considerable experience in:
§ planning applications and appeals;
§ planning and highways agreements;
§ advocacy at Planning Inquiries;
§ enforcement proceedings;
§ special statutory procedures and judicial review;
§ compulsory purchase;
§ environmental impact assessment and environmental statements;
§ environmental permit applications and appeals;
§ defending environmental prosecutions;
§ negotiating environmental warranties and indemnities, audits and due diligence.
