PLANNING SOLICITOR - NOTTINGHAM
Leading Midlands firm seeks Planning Solicitor 1-3 years PQE to join Property Department
The successful candidate will:
Have a good understanding of planning law, planning process and policy.
Experience of related areas including compulsory purchase and highways would be an advantage.
Good drafting skills. Experience of drafting Section106 agreements and enforcement notices would be an advantage.
Be able to manage client relationships effectively, quickly winning confidence whilst being alive to potential conflicts.
Assist in the development of the client base, with particular focus on existing public sector clients of the firm.
Have knowledge of inquiry/appeal process as it relates to planning
Be able to provide in-house support to public sector clients by way of secondment opportunities.
Be able to "work both sides of the fence" for applicants and authorities.
Be team player able to respond to in house needs of property department and support requirements from elsewhere within the firm, for example on corporate acquisitions/disposals.
Have good presenting and marketing skills to help develop the planning team as one of the growth areas in the property department.
As a junior to mid level team member, you will be expected to take on increasing levels of responsibility as you progress, assisting senior lawyers with complex transactions and contracts and the provision of marketing support such as writing copy, presenting seminars etc. We are looking for a motivated, commercially astute and ambitious solicitor with strong academics and personal committment to achieving goals and self-development.
