EMPLOYMENT SOLICITOR - NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE

An Employment Law Specialist is required with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification for a significant commercial practice in the North-East. Experience in both contentious and non-contentious work. The preferred candidate would have worked in a commercial practice and have experience of acting predominantly for Employers. A track record successfully dealing with matters on behalf of clients and sound financial performance.

JOB PURPOSE
To advise clients on employment law issues, managing of a portfolio of cases and providing direct assistance to the Partner. To promote the future development of the Employment department

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY
Advising clients in person and by telephone on day to day employment issues such as disciplinary and grievance matters.
Providing a comprehensive service to commercial clients including resolving/avoiding disputes through advising on conduct of internal procedures, mediation and representation in employment tribunals.
Handling Employment Tribunal claims throughout the United Kingdom including drafting pleadings, dealing with day to day correspondence, drafting witness statements and advocacy at hearing.
Assist in the promotion of the firm's Employment department including writing articles for newsletters and external publications and presenting seminars to clients and external bodies.
The successful candidate must be able to work and deal with client matters with little or no supervision.
